Good morning, everyone.
Welcome to my daily journal. Please note that the content shared here is for personal documentation purposes only. It doesn’t involve significant matters; it’s a simple daily reflection. Thanks for understanding!
Let’s first talk about yesterday. I spent the entire evening with my old teaching mates. I started teaching English in the summer of 2015. An English teacher encouraged me to sign up for a Teachers’ Training Course, giving me the confidence I needed. At that time, I was living in Yazd. I went to an English language institute, signed up, took the exam, and was chosen for a TTC course!
The problem was that the course was in one week with something like an exam at the end. I had a very important university exam that week and couldn’t take part in the course. The institute was kind and let me take that final exam. I failed. They told me I needed to retake the course to fully grasp the principles. When I asked when the next course would be held, they replied, “sometime next year.”
That was when I truly realized I was about to miss a big opportunity. I said I was in Tehran in the summer, and they offered me a chance to take part in the summer TTC course in Tehran. This was when I got to meet the beautiful bunch I met last night.
We used to be about 10 people, but our friends left the group or immigrated one by one, and now we’re only 4 people in Iran. We met up after almost a year and a half. There was a lot to catch up. We talked a bit and nagged about working, and then Narges showed up with a board game. So we spent the next three hours playing Chinatown!
Parastoo had to leave early, but Amin and Narges stayed for a full round. I tried really hard to win the game by being Mr. Smarty Pants. But in the end, Narges won by an inch. And since winning is winning, we called it a day then and said goodbye. Hanging out with friends, old friends, is awesome. I love it. It’s a pity we don’t get to meet up that often.
About today, I didn’t take the late-morning nap I talked about a few days ago. I came here to write this journal. I have a 50-min running session. I have to finish the code for the Telegram bot and deploy version 0.0.3 of BluLexi. Then we need to meet with Pouya to discuss the sprint for the following week.
Tonight, I’ll probably build a brand new GPT with Rad. And tomorrow’s a very exciting day. I hope when I come here, I come with some good news about making myself a disciplined man!
Cheers.
